Once you have the right property manager for your business, it’s important to remember this business is a two-way street.
Your property manager is offering you a service to ensure your properties are well maintained, rented out, and ultimately making you money. All while you are as hands off as possible, right?
Your property manager already knows what they are doing. They don’t need to be micromanaged (hopefully). What they do need is to know your expectations.
Do you require a certain number or specific reports each month? They need that information from the beginning, it may not be part of their normal reporting. That doesn’t mean they won’t do it, it just means they need to be prepared for what you’re asking.
Do you want to walk through the rental between tenants? They need to know that. Their goal is to keep your unit rented constantly. This means they may need to schedule time for you to do your walk through while the unit is empty.
